The International Arena and Millennium Stadium host big name popular entertainment. St.David's Hall is the most broadcast concert hall in Britain. The Sherman Theatre has commissioned more new plays for young people than any theatre in the UK. In the summer, the entire city becomes a venue for Europe's biggest street festival.

With the fascia dominated by a poem from Welsh Poet Laureate Gwyneth Lewis, the spectacular Millennium Centre is already an international icon. Its two theatres are a showcase for international music, opera, ballet and dance. It is home to seven arts organisations including the Welsh National Opera and National Dance Company of Wales, as well as a disabled music and dance company and award-winning community theatre.
